Accompanying an exhibition in 2020–21 in the Hermitage Museum, St Petersburg, Cecil Beaton: Celebrating Celebrity is a fascinating look at the famous British photographer partly through Russian eyes. It describes the trip Beaton made to the USSR with the fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli in 1935, as well as his friendships with Russian emigres in the UK. Many of Beaton's best-known photographs, from Marilyn Monroe and MIck Jagger to Queen Elizabeth II, are also featured.
